Happy 2026! The past year was full of activities and milestones, much of which I can't outline
in one page, but here are some highlights:
Began my 5th year at the University of Connecticut, where I directed LIVING DEAD IN DENMARK
by Qui Nguyen for Connecticut Repertory Theatre.
Began my 4th year as Lecturer of Acting at the David Geffen School of Drama and
my 2nd year teaching for Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies at Yale University.
MEXODUS by Brian Quijada and Nygel D. Robinson wowed audiences at Audible's Minetta Lane Theater in NYC -
a project I've been working on as dramaturg and creative advisor since its inception in late-2020. Stay tuned for future events!
While visiting family in California last Summer, I had the pleasure to reunite with Luis Valdez, the Valdez and ETC family,
and friends while attending his newest work, ADIOS MAMA CARLOTTA at El Teatro Campesino.
My most recent play, CRAYON SUN, had developmental presentations at Waterworks New Play Festival @ LiveArts
in Charlottesville, VA and at the Origins Play Festival @ Proscaenium Theatre Company in New York City.
It also received semi-finalist citations at Premiere Stages @ Kean University, the Blue Ink Playwriting Award
at American Blues Theatre, and STX Latinx New Play Festival.
On a personal front, my relatives and I are safe in the face of the current administration's campaign of ethnic
cleansing of Latinx, immigrant, and refugees in this country. We must continue to fight and resist any all
attempts to terrorize our bodies, silence our voices, and erase our histories.
Only through our creative efforts can we overcome all forms of oppression. Join and support
those causes that support our endangered communities. Thank you.
