As an immigrant and Chicanx artist, Tlaloc uses his cultural upbringing to write, create, and direct theatrical experiences, specializing in developing new, adventurous work. He also creates and directs plays with a multicultural focus, works actively in social practice, and promotes equity and inclusion in all facets of the arts.

Tlaloc's newest work, Divisadero, was selected for the 2019 New Harmony Project, a finalist for SPACE on Ryder Farm, and a semi-finalist for the 2019 O'Neill Playwrights Conference and the 2019 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. He is completing the stage adaptation of The Revolution of Evelyn Serrano by Sonia Manzano  ('Sesame Street') at Carnegie Mellon University. ​He recently devised and wrote La fuerza de Antígona, a new bilingual adaptation of Sophocles' Antigone, at the Theatre School at DePaul University. His first original play, Johanna: Facing Forward, was the 2017 Runner-Up of the MetLife Nuestras Voces National Playwriting Competition and selected by 50 Playwrights Project as one of 2019’s Top Collegiate Plays recommended for production. Finally, he is the 2017 recipient of a Creation Fund Award from National Performance Network to write a new play based on the life of Rodolfo 'Corky' Gonzales, titled Anthem to Aztlán.

Tlaloc is one of the original framers and co-founders of the Latinx Theatre Commons and its' online platform, Café Onda. He is a Usual Suspect with New York Theatre Workshop, a member of the Dramatists Guild, and an Associate Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers. He is the recipient of the Sir John Gielgud Award in Classical Directing, trained with SITI Company during their 25th anniversary Summer Intensive at Skidmore College in 2017, and worked with Cornerstone Theatre Company during their 2015 . Summer Intensive in East Salinas, CA.

He has developed, produced, and directed new work with companies such as New Dramatists, Chicago Dramatists, Salt Lake Acting Company, Theatre Emory, The Public Theater (NYC), INTAR, Repertorio Español, Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, Iowa New Play Festival, Arkansas New Play Festival, Cherry Lane Theater, Lark Play Development Center, 52nd Street Project, LAByrinth Theater Company, Primary Stages, Amphibian Stage Productions, South Coast Repertory, New Harmony Project and Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

Tlaloc holds a B.A. (w/Honors) from UC Santa Cruz, an M.F.A. from the University of Washington School of Drama, and
 is a 2018-19 Presidential Post-Doctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University.
